KupunaWiki was created in 2015 as a referral network available dedicated for our kupuna (seniors), who are seeking qualified professionals in areas of health, finance, senior housing, estate planning and real estate. Since then, this resource has grown to provide a wide range of information that is pertinent to our local senior community. KupunaWiki Radio, which will now be our podcast, is the latest step in fulfilling our desire to help, educate, and reach our kupuna to truly make Hawai‘i the best place for seniors to live.

Curt Kiriu CAPS, CGR, ILS, President of CK Independent Living Builders talks about the importance of planning for the long-term with home modifications so that you or your loved ones have the option of Aging-in-Place, as well as the three (3) most common types of modifications - main entry, bathroom, and kitchen, and what you need keep in mind before starting a home modification project - 1. Find a licensed and insured, contractor. 2. Make a list of what you want. 3. Make sure to get a written contract complete with scope of work and pay schedule, and do not pay in cash. 4. Do a license check.
